Why does GoodBully need Screen Time access?

iOS only lets an app put a shield in front of other apps through Screen Time. Without that access, GoodBully can’t do anything.

Can GoodBully see which apps I use?

With your permission, where iOS offers it: GoodBully sees which apps are installed and how long you use each one, so it can suggest apps for each problem and count your minutes exactly. It keeps daily totals per problem, not a record of each app, and neither the app names nor your minutes ever leave your iPhone. See the privacy policy.

What’s a check-in?

Halfway through your daily limit, the shield comes down once to say how much you’ve used. If the minutes are going much faster than the day, it checks in earlier, at a quarter. “Keep going” lets you straight back in and doesn’t count as a pass.

How do I get past a shield?

Tap “Let me in anyway” and choose 15 minutes, 1 hour, or the rest of today. On iOS versions before 26.4, the button grants 15 minutes. Fifteen minutes is the shortest option because it’s the shortest window after which iOS can reliably put a shield back. With Pro’s strict shields turned on, there’s no way past until the block ends.

My shield didn’t come back after a pass.

A shield normally returns when the pass ends. A pass that would run past midnight ends at the start of the next day instead. Opening GoodBully always puts back any shield whose pass has run out.

How do I turn GoodBully off?

Switch it off on GoodBully’s main screen to lift every shield. Deleting the app also removes its shields, unless a Pro block you set up is preventing app deletion until it ends.

Pro and stakes

How do I cancel Pro or get a refund?

Pro is billed by Apple. Cancel in your iPhone’s Settings under your name, then Subscriptions; request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Details are in refunds and cancellation.

When does a stake come back?

When you meet the goal, the whole stake is refunded to the bank account it came from, within about 3 business days. Your bank may show it as a deposit.

What happens if I miss a goal?

You can appeal before any money moves. If the result stands, the stake goes to the charity or organization you chose, never to us.

How do I delete my account?

You only have an account if you’ve staked money. Use Delete account in GoodBully’s settings. It can’t be done while a stake is still settling, because money is in flight.
